New Teachers and Staff 2023-2024

Christina Bishop, originally from Greensburg, has been recommended as the principal of Taylor County Middle School through an unanimous vote by the site base committee.

Mrs. Bishop graduated from Green County High School in 1999. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Music Education P-12 in 2004, followed by a Master's degree in Music Performance in 2014, and Administrative Leadership in 2022, all from Campbellsville University.

Mrs. Bishop has been involved with the Taylor County School District since 1999, working in various capacities. Initially, she taught privately and worked with woodwinds for the Taylor County Band, a role she held until recently. Later, Mrs. Bishop became the Assistant Band Director, TCMS Choir Director, and Arts and Humanities teacher. She also served as an adjunct professor at Lindsey Wilson College and taught and performed in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Recently, Mrs. Bishop has been serving as the Assistant Principal at Taylor County Middle School.

Mrs. Bishop is married to Stephen Bishop, who serves as the Director of Bands for Taylor County Schools. Together, they have three children: Madison, who is a 2nd-grade teacher at Taylor County Primary School, Noah, a senior at TCHS, and Logan, a sophomore at TCHS. The Bishop family often performs at various events throughout the year and cherishes their time spent together.

She expresses her gratitude, stating, "I feel honored to be entrusted with the role of TCMS Principal. Our students and staff at TCMS are exceptional, and I am committed to furthering the success of our school and district. We have fostered a sense of family at TCMS, encouraging excellence from both students and staff. We will continue this tradition, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve."

Mr. Hunter Jackson, originally from Columbus, Georgia, has been in education since 2006. He started his teaching career at Hardaway High School in Columbus, where he taught health, physical education, and physical conditioning. During his time in Columbus, he also served as an assistant coach in football, baseball, and boys soccer, and as the head coach in wrestling and girls soccer.

Recently, Mr. Jackson taught and coached football at both South Laurel High School and Green County. Before accepting the position of assistant principal at TCMS, he was the assistant principal at Green County High School.

Mr. Jackson and his wife, Kelly, have four children: Kylie, a junior at Lindsey Wilson College; Kameron, a freshman at the University of Kentucky; Kennedy, a junior at Taylor County High School, and Kaden ("KJ"), a 5th grader at Taylor County Intermediate School. He says, “we are all blessed and excited to be a part of the Taylor County School District. Go Cards!”


Holly Johnson, originally from Vancouver, Washington, will be teaching 6th grade science at TCMS this year! She has her Bachelor's in Biology from Concordia University and a Master's in Teaching from the University of the Cumberlands. This will be Mrs. Johnson's 6th year teaching middle school science.

She and her husband, Drew, have two young boys, Owen and Callum.
 

Brittany Martin is a 2012 Taylor County High School graduate and joins our ECE department at TCMS. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business Administration from Campbellsville University in 2017. She is currently completing her Master in Special Education at CU and will graduate in December.

This will be her third year in education. She previously served as an FMD assistant and FMD teacher at Campbellsville Elementary School and Lebanon Elementary School.

Mrs. Martin is married to her husband, Kyle, and they have two children.

Mrs. Hannah Nimmie is joining our ECE department at Taylor County Middle School! She graduated from Western Kentucky University, where she studied Special Education LBD and Elementary Education. This will be her third year in education.

She recently married her best friend and moved to Campbellsville.

Mrs. Kelly Jackson is a RTI teacher at TCMS this year. She is a 1997 graduate of Adair County High School and began her teaching career at Mannsville Elementary School. She begins her 22nd year of teaching this year!

Mrs. Jackson graduated from Eastern Kentucky University and Troy State University and, in addition to Mannsville, has taught in Georgia, Laurel County, and Green County.

She and her husband, Hunter, have four children: Kylie, upcoming junior at LWC; Kameron, upcoming freshman at UK; Kennedy, upcoming junior at TCHS; and Kaden, an upcoming 5th grader at TCIS.

Mrs. Jennifer Elder will be teaching 8th grade ELA this year! This will be her ninth year teaching. She received her Bachelor's degree from Campbellsville University and her Master's from the University of the Cumberlands.

She and her wonderful husband have four amazing daughters and two energetic dogs.

Mrs. Gina-Lou Jean Baptiste has been teaching English at TCMS since early January!

She has five years of experience and previously taught at Jefferson County Public Schools and Polk County Public Schools (in Florida). She has her BA in English Education and MEd. in Leadership.

Mrs. Baptiste is married and she and her husband have two children, Anna-Lou and Zachariah.
